welcome to my new blog!

Hey hey!

It’s been a really long time since I’ve written anything (since late 2023 already!? Time flies!), and I’ve truly missed it. However, I have a few reasons why I stopped uploading on Substack and why I decided to create my new website, https://hunio.org.

I’ve always wanted to share the cool projects I’m working on, the things I’ve learned, and more. Substack initially felt like the perfect platform for this, as it was easy, seamless, and quickly reached subscribers.

However, as I started taking on more and more, the newsletter layout became restrictive. It was hard to categorize or isolate uploads without creating separate newsletters, and I felt I couldn’t upload massive research posts because the style felt it required some form of brevity.

Since I’ve always been big on having control over what I build, I wanted my website to reflect that. But being a college student midway through my master’s degree, working an active job in cybersecurity, traveling and participating in hacking competitions, leading campus clubs, and more, I simply couldn’t find enough time to make progress quick enough to complete this migration.

With the start of winter break, though, I finally put a ton of time to building out this little website and organizing it just how I want it right now! As you can probably guess, the topics I’ll (immediately) be writing about are:

  • Blog: My personal life! Things about minimalism, travel, life lessons, experiences, and more.
  • HomeLab: My Homelab! In my opinion, it’s gotten super awesome, and I’m so excited to share the technicalities of it.
  • Security: Cybersecurity! I do tons of hacking and offensive security research, and I wanted my own personal outlet to share what I’m doing.

I have a ton of content about ready to go, and I have intentions on adding more sections reflecting the other projects I’m working on.

See you soon! :)
